It’s no secret that film studios have been snapping up rights to every comic book known to man. However, there are a number of literary properties that remain under the radar in the fervor. Yes, big names like Philip K. Dick (Minority Report) and Isaac Asimov (I, Robot) continue to have their work adapted (with mixed results), but there are many stories that, given to the right filmmakers, could become the next Blade Runner. While many people, myself included, may hope these classics stay hidden, it’s better that glorious filmmakers James Cameron, Peter Jackson and Guillermo del Toro find them, rather than the money machines looking for a quick payday.

So how about some suggestions? What great stories are out there, waiting to be found? Please try to only include those that aren’t already in development, if possible.
